Project Management Mastery

About Me

Coach Ir. WanI’m Ir. Wan Ibrahim Yusoff, a certified project manager, JKR Workplace Assessor and HRD Corp Accredited Trainer.

I help planners struggling with repeated work programme submissions, and reviewers who are not always clear on what to look for, to develop and assess work programme that are not only compliant, but defensible — and usable.

Repeated submissions are rarely just about approval. They often indicate that the work programme cannot be clearly explained, defended, or relied upon for project control.

In many construction projects, submitted work programme appear complete:

  • Activities defined
  • Logic linked
  • Durations assigned
  • Critical path identified

But upon assessment:

  • Activities are not tied to clear deliverables
  • The sequence does not reflect actual site execution
  • Durations are based on assumptions rather than productivity
  • The validity of the critical path is questionable

The result is a work programme that appears complete — but fails when assessed against the requirements of a defensible work programme.

I work with contractors/planners/project teams to:

  • Identify weak work programme structures (WBS)
  • Diagnose weak or misleading logic
  • Detect unrealistic duration assumptions
  • Evaluate the reliability of the critical path

My focus is not on producing work programme —
but on ensuring they can be applied and relied upon under real project conditions.

My work is based on:

  • Practical application of the Critical Path Method (CPM)
  • Alignment with JKR Work Programme Guidelines
  • Reliable WBS structures — built around deliverables and aligned with how works are executed on site

Delivered through:

  • Hands-on workshops and advisory for contractors, planners, and project teams

I am also the author of Confession of a Project Scheduler,
a professional narrative series exploring real-world scheduling failures and practices that undermine schedule reliability.

Real-World Experience That Works

For over 25 years, I’ve been involved in managing and coordinating government-funded construction projects, working alongside engineers, schedulers, consultants, and project officers to ensure timely and quality delivery. From managing complex timelines to ensure that deliverables meet expectations, I’ve learned that true expertise isn’t just about using software alone — it’s about applying structured thinking and practical systems that drive real results.

Over the years, I’ve combined strategic insight with hands-on implementation across real project environments — from government agencies to consultancies and construction teams. This experience has shaped how I approach every challenge, and it’s exactly what I bring when helping others navigate project planning, scheduling, and monitoring more effectively.

How I Can Help You

✅ I provide step-by-step guidance (course & workshop) to develop project schedules that meet the format and requirements of JKR — and more importantly, increase the chances of your project being delivered on time.

✅ I also assist Superintending Officers (S.O.) and consultants in assessing submitted work programs using the JKR 7-Point Scheduling Best Practices framework (Schedule assessment workshop for real projects)

✅ Need help with project risk or project quality? I also support:

🔹Developing Project Risk Management Plans (based on ISO 31000:2018)
🔹Implementing Project Quality Management Systems (based on ISO 9001:2015)

Let’s work together to master your planning, control your timelines, and deliver project excellence.

🔵 Smarter. Faster. Better.
